Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.

Does Jaleo accept reservations?
Jaleo DC accepts reservations for a portion of our dining room for both lunch and dinner. Some tables are held back for walk-ins. Jaleo Bethesda accepts reservations before 6:30 and offers an Advanced Wait List for parties of 8 or more after 6:30. Jaleo Crystal City accepts reservations for lunch and dinner.

When are you open? What are your hours? Do you serve brunch?
Jaleo DC is open on Monday from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 11:30 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 AM to midnight, and Sunday from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday until 3 PM.

Jaleo Crystal City is open Tuesday through Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM, Thursday and Friday 11:30 AM-11:00 PM, Saturday from noon to 11:00 PM and Sunday noon-10:00 PM. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday until 3 PM. We are closed on Monday.

What does Jaleo mean? Where’d you get the name?
Jaleo means “uproar, revelry, merry-making” in Spanish and the restaurant takes its name from the famous John Singer Sargent painting that hangs in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. The energy and vitality of the painting are reflected in each of Jaleo’s locations which are dominated by large murals inspired Sargent’s flamenco dancer.

What is the nearest metro?
Our downtown location is two blocks north of the Archives/Navy Memorial stop on the green and yellow lines or one block south of Gallery Place/Verizon Center stop on the red, green and yellow lines. Jaleo Bethesda is located 3 blocks from the Bethesda stop on the red line. Jaleo Crystal City is convenient to the Crystal City stop on the blue and yellow lines.

Does Jaleo have parking?
At Jaleo Bethesda, there are several public parking garages within a block of the restaurant, on Woodmont Ave, Bethesda Ave, Elm St., and Wisconsin Ave.
At Jaleo Crystal City, we offer free parking from Monday-Friday after 4 PM and on the weekends in a nearby garage.
For our downtown location, valet parking is available at Café Atlántico (on the opposite side of the block, 8th St. and D St. NW) after 5 PM every day but Monday.

What is Jaleo’s dress code?
Jaleo does not have an official dress code - dress tends to be upscale casual.

Does Jaleo have outdoor seating?
All three of our locations offer patio seating during warm weather. Please note Jaleo Bethesda and Jaleo Crystal City’s patios are larger and better able to handle big parties. Typically, we open our patios by the first week of April through the end of October, depending on the weather. Please call ahead to confirm the patio is open.

Does Jaleo do private events? Does Jaleo have a private dining room? How do I arrange a large party at Jaleo?
Yes! Jaleo Crystal City is the ideal venue for your next event. For large parties, the entire restaurant, accommodating 225 guests, can be booked. Our Crystal City location also features a lovely private dining room (the Blue Room) that can accommodate between 35 to 70 guests. In addition to the Blue Room, the layout of the restaurant allows us to accommodate parties in the main dining room with a high degree of privacy.
While Jaleo DC and Jaleo Bethesda do not have private rooms or areas designed to accommodate large groups, we would be delighted to work with you to make arrangements that suit you.

Can I bring my own wine? Does Jaleo have a corkage fee? What is the Wine Shop? How does the Wine Shop work?
Sorry! Montgomery County law and Arlington County law are very clear on this matter and prohibit outside wine at our Bethesda and Crystal City locations.
However, if personally selecting a bottle of wine is important to you, please note that Jaleo Crystal City is the home of Jaleo’s Wine Shop. All the wines on our award-winning wine list are for sale everyday, whether you are looking for something to accompany your meal or something for drinking later at home. In addition, our staff is available to provide helpful advice and information on the wines we sell. Surprise your guests with something from our Wine Shop!
Jaleo offers an extensive wine list that is sure to accommodate most tastes and wallets. Speak to your server or manager to identify a style that is right for you. If you have a special bottle of wine you want to enjoy with dinner, you are welcome to bring it to Jaleo DC. Please note we will assess a corkage fee.

Can I bring a birthday cake?
You are welcome to bring your own cake for a special occasion, however be advised that a $2.50 service charge per person will be applied (think of it as a "dessert corkage fee").

The main dining room of Jaleo DC is wheelchair accessible. Both the dining room and the bar area of Jaleo Crystal City and Jaleo Bethesda are wheelchair accessible.

I am a vegetarian. Can I eat at Jaleo? I have food allergies. Can I eat at Jaleo? I have celiac disease and can’t eat gluten. Can I eat at Jaleo?
Jaleo's regular menu has numerous vegetarian options. And as a service to the more than 11 million Americans suffering from food allergies, Jaleo now offers gluten-free and allergy menus. Jaleo chefs identified dishes that meet the needs of guest suffering from allergies to diary, soy, fish, tree nuts and wheat or gluten foods that account for almost 90% of all food allergic reactions.
